I started learning guitar at 15 and got my fist bass at 18. It was a Grant Precision copy. However, the guitar became my main instrument and I played in various bands until in 1986 I was asked to play bass in a friends blues band. I swapped one of my guitars for an Aria bass and played blues for a couple of years until in 1988 I was asked to stand in on guitar in a prog rock band.
That standing in lasted 10 years! But I played all the bass parts on the three albums we released 'cos we didn't have a full time bass player.
In '98 that band split and I took a break from music, just playing in the house and doing occassional sessions on both bass and guitar in and around my music A level. In 2003, a friend called me and asked if I still played bass and told me of a band looking for a new bass player. I was ready to start playing again so out came my trusty Aria bass and I joined FUGITIVE as full time bass player.I was having so much fun playing bass that it has now become my main instrument.
I now have 5 basses (see Gear) and am now totally commited to being a bass player.
