It pisses me off to no extent what has been going on but I will not rant on about this as it has been covard many, many times.

Just a heads up if you do not already know, PT has been closed. There is still a community over there but no more tabs. It was a matter of time before they got shut down but here is a quote right off their front page;

The well-known transcription community around powertabs.net has been closed by the MPA on behalf of a large British music book seller. The main aim of the community has always been to be an educative resource for guitarists and musicians. However, we do respect the final decision of music publishers, who argue that our resource might have been abused for non-educative purposes too, i.e. a blatant ripping of their works, so we immediately followed their decision to close powertabs.net for the time being.

Of course, nothing should stop our mission to make sure, that there is at least one transcription community on the world wide web, which provides (a) a certification stamp for highest level of quality tablature, (b) transcription education for all levels of musicianship, and (c) convenient, controlled ways for transcribers to get feedback on their transcription efforts from musicians all over the world. The future will definitely look completely different than the past, as there will be no files available anymore, but who knows, whether the change won’t end up in a refresh of our community, which might be even more enjoyable, and maybe even closer to our ultimate goal - creating a transcription community as good as it can get.
