I got to go to Cancun back in March. While I was there i stayed at the Cancun Palace resort. It was pretty sweet to stay at one of those all inclusive resorts. WOO HOO!!! All the free food and drinks your heart desires. Anyway there was this house band that played in the resorts bar every night. The band wasn't really that good but the bassists just caught my attention. The band did mostly 80's pop covers so I wasn't into the music so much (just not my style). But i couldn't complain any being in Cancun. The dude playing the bass was 19 yrs. old and had taught himself how to play. I had to get the drummer to translate for me to be able to talk with him. He had only been playing for 3 yrs. and was doing a great job. In between songs the dude would just go off on some crazy bass lines. You could tell that this band was just something for him to get money. He was way more talented than the rest of the band. What got my attention the most was the fact that he played left handed. But he did not restring the guitar for left handed playing. He was playing a ibanaz 6 string totaly backwards and was kickin it hard. I was just wandering if anybody has ever seen anybody else play this way or has possibly even tried it yourself. So if your are ever in Cancun soon, go to the Cancun palace and check out the house band.
My one guitarist played that
My one guitarist played that same way. He played a right handed guitar left handed. I'll tell you what though the guy could play!!!! He was extremely talented. It took a little getting used to. I know a lot of guitar chords so I can tell what chord a guy is playing. With this guy I had no clue at first. After a while I got used to it though.

Yeah, some do. The most
Yeah, some do. The most famous example is probably Jimmy Haslip. He plays with a band called Yellowjackets.
