DeFret
Has anyone here tried to defret a bass? I tried doing my ASHton AB1100 a couple of days ago by applying a soldering iron to a fret then attacking it with pliers. But it wouldn't budge! I probably could have forced it , but it has a real sexy fingerboard and I didn't want to damage it.

I've never tried it. I opted to just buy a fretless (used, cheap). I'm glad, too. Because I don't play fretless all that often. It's great to have, but I'm glad it's not the only bass I have.
