I recently stumbled upon some rancid songs and the bass player matt freeman really caught my attention. i was listening to one of their songs Maxwell Murder and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what scales or arpegios he's using. Thanks
Here are a couple vids that might help our more "theory minded" members to help you out. It seems to a fairly simple line but it is the speed that'll getcha.

thanks for the help. Some of those notes he's playing seem a bit random to me, probably because i don't know alot about some of the more complex scales or arpeggios out there. I hope I can learn more on theory because I think it would really improve me bassplaying.
I only had a quick listem but there are a lot of notes out side of the scale, I'm finding it hard to pick his key center on this one but I think he's playing over Dmin in the top vid but he's playing it more like a bluse scale (very cromatic from G to A).
This is only a guess so I could be way off.
Just an fyi J, two different people playing. The top vid is Matt Freeman. The bottom is some guy trying to imitate him. I am sure you already knew that though. ;)
