My Strange Experimentations Continue

I have discovered that my tuner doubles as a microphone for my acoustic guitars (I've sang into it as well, but we won't go there). Simply turn it on, plug into the output, and shove it in the sound hole. Plenty of volume to play with and no feedback (in a recording context). Weird huh? Oh well, it suits my purpose.

It is getting late. I probably should get some sleep.

Wow!! You sang through it

Wow!! You sang through it and it is still functioning? Thats good quality. ;P

I never would have thought to try that, i will have to give it a go and see how it works. How good is the tone that comes out of it?

The output is fairly low,

The tone is not half bad, really--not like a great mic, mind you--but it still can serve its purpose. I'm really suprised.

If I get something recorded, I'll put it up here so you can hear it.

Er, Bo?

The reason your tuner acts like a mic is simple to explain. Breathing that stuff you've obviously been smoking right into it's face stoned the bloomin' thing!

lol

Seriously, are you fair dinkum?

Yep, it really works. Since I am short a mic, I thought I'd try this to see what would happen. I figured since it has an in and out on it, it should work.

And by the way, the only thing I smoke these days is ALL WHO OPPOSE ME!!! Mwahahahahahaha! LOL!

I've gotta try that trick with the tuner's mic -just to confuse the crap out of my students and to lighten up the lessons a bit.

Talking of stange experiments Bo, it's fun taking an umbrella down with you when going for a SCUBA dive. You put the 'brella up and allow your exhausted air to get trapped in the canopy of the brolly, and you can paddle around like a duck with it's head chopped off in mid water like Mary Poppins -just remember to hold it to the side WHERE IT FILLS WITH NO MORE AIR after you get it at the neutral bouyancy stage, we don't want you to parachute up to the surface and get an embolism or something equally gruesome and annoying.

Paul: were you aware that you could parachute upwards? lol It's a lot slower and not the same adrenelin buzz, but potentially just as fatal.

Yep, I saw a vid of an autopsy on a guy who embolised (it was a dive training session). The guy looked fairly normal, well for a dead guy, until the doc removed the skull cap. His brain expanded like a balloon. The film convinced me not to ascend too fast.

I did a water jump with some friends once. Just to be a bit of a goof I wore swim fins when I jumped. Very soon after leaving the aircraft I realized it wasn't such a good idea. The fins had so much air resistance I kept tipping head first. I had the devils own job staying stable. Sometimes it's best not to mix sports. LOL

I can't quite picture Dags

I can't quite picture Dags floating around like Mary Poppins. That's a mental picture that won't quite form........ and I'm grateful for that. hahahahaha

The flying fin.

I'm not so certain about the stability of anyone who jumps from an aeroplane with fins at one end only! lol hands and feet perhaps. lol
