I don't know of any specific shops, but some webshops might carry gold strings.

I also think there's a brand called Maxima or Maximum that has gold strings. I saw John Entwistle using gold strings in a video, and I think he is endorsed by Rotosound. Maybe they have gold strings as well, unless it was a special JE-set.
Some gold strings on the Cirris I shall be ordering would look sweet. Maybe a tad "pimpish" but hell it still would be sweet. I guess I would also need to recover the cabs with some lime green velvet, leoperd skin on the controls and make a gold wire hub cap to use as the speaker cover.
Cheers

Don't know how they sound. I've never tried gold strings myself. If you get gold strings for you cirrus, please post some feedback. I'm curious as to how they work out.
BTW, don't forget the neon lights on the rig. They should go great with the leopard and gold theme. LOL!
No worries there Thor, I plan to post up a review of the bass and what ever I put on it.
Neon huh?? I do not think I have ever met a pimp with neon lights. I have seen the wannabes with them but never a true pimp. Maybe run them along the perimeter of the body and a flexable one over the strap.

Those Kustom bass rigs from the 70s were pretty fly. I played through one (black, not red) for a while. It was a friends, not mine. But it was a decent amp, actually. That 2x15 cab really moved some air.
They are still being made AND you can still get the tuck n' roll versions. I almost bought one a few months ago but decided to save a bit more for a bit more.

I was thinking about something like this. Maybe you can put lights under your cab?
"Pimp my rig!"
