Kidz,
I've been thinking about doing a t-shirt to celebrate our one year anniversary (established June 1, 2006). I've been working on a few designs and have contacted some friends who do graphic design more seriously to see if anyone will do a design for fairly cheap. If any of you know graphic designers (or are graphic designers) let them know we're considering a shirt design.
I'm thinking about using one of these places to do it, as they're both print-as-you-go and don't cost much, if anything, up front. If you have experience with either (or know of a better option) let me know:
http://www.spreadshirt.com/
http://www.cafepress.com/
My questions for you are several:
1) Would you even care to own a BP shirt if we had one to sell (assuming it looked cool and didn't cost too much)?
2) Should it be short or long sleeve?
3) Would you prefer a dark design on a light color or a light design on a dark color?
You can take a look at the product pages at Spreadshirt and Cafepress if you want to see what's available. (Most) any input is appreciated.
Cheers,
Wheat
I would buy one Wheat.
I would buy one Wheat. Sleeves don't matter to me, I just cut them off for a gig shirt anyway. Dark or light again doesn't matter to me.

How about a sleeveless
How about a sleeveless Dickies style?
If ya go with a T then short sleeve and a dark color would be best. I would also suggest comming up with a pic as a logo. Then you could have the logo on the right side of the chest and bassplaying.com across the upper back. I say right side of the chest because if ya wear it while playing the strap will cover the logo.
I'd get one as well.

Good point about the logo
Good point about the logo placement. I hadn't thought about doing both sides of the shirt, but that's a good idea. I would like some sort of graphic--and we can do more than one design, if necessary. I'm with you on a dark color (maybe a dark navy?). Black is the most rock-n-roll of colors, of course. But I look better in blue!
Both places can do a sleeveless version. And it shouldn't be any harder to offer the same design in short, long, and sleeveless. I think most do a 3/4 sleeve, too.

As far as shirt colors go, I like the lightweight ringer tee with blue and navy from spreadshirt.com. And I'm only looking at the guys shirts...it'd be too much money just to make a few girl shirts. If you were to make some girl shirts, I like the Juniors Ringer Tee in the same blue and navy.
Either way, I'd buy one. How much do you think they'd go for?
I like the idea of a commemorative date on them...maybe "Est. 2006." Maybe you could put it on the sleeve...Oh wait, Dave will just cut that off. : )
I also like a pretty simple design; maybe the title text at the top of the page in the default design...not too many graphics keep it looking classy. Because, as we all know, we're pretty classy folks around here.

I used to point out to my friends how little Kip actually played the bass in any Winger video. For all I know, he can play the bass (isn't he a producer these days?), but he preferred to strut around instead. :) Your shots are cool, and not at all Kip-like.
Funny story: I used to play a Peavey MegaBass head with a huge (1x18 + 2x10) cab. Not long after I bought that rig, I found a full-page ad of Kip Winger endorsing it! In the pic, he's leaning against the rig in one of his typical rock-star poses. Naturally, I cut this out and pasted it on my rig.

Actually building biceps is Hazz's department isn't it? He's a trainer or something I recall reading on his homepage. Maybe Hazz can give us the BP Fitness program. If he says we can't drink beer I can PROMISE you I ain't signing up! What keeps me in fairly decent shape is my business. I still get out there and have to load 900 lbs pool tables on my truck. Then get it to a location and have to take it up a flight of stairs.... that will hurt you! A few months ago I hired another guy, so I hope I don't go soft now that I'm not moving machines as much. I'm not the man I once was that's for sure. But, thank you Wheat.... Now I feel like I have to go home and do some curls....LOL!

Ya know, Dave, after a good hard work out a beer is a good thing believe it or not. Now if you injure yer self while working out then a keg might do the trick to kill the pain. Or as a friend of mine used to do, take 1/2 vicodin and pound down a 40oz.
The stuff we would do to him after he did that. One time we stuck him in his car, put one wheel over a cliff and then waited until he woke up. We had him believing for a week that he almost drove off the cliff. HAHA

Really? Girls come here? To visit you guys? But ya'll are bass players...girls don't visit bass players. They become psycho girlfriends of frontmen/guitar players, don't you know? I have seen this with my own eyes. I guess because said frontmen are clean (when they bathe) and intellectually stimulating (when they smooth talk their girls into buying them dinner). I just realized that's why I don't ever date frontmen/guitar players; I'm not very good at being the psycho girlfriend. I'm just not nearly possessive enough to pull it off and their unjustified egos just aren't worth the trouble of faking it.
