Yeah, I really should learn to play that mando though. It'd be nice to learn that thing. Fairly easy instrument as long as you've got tiny little monkey hands, I've heard.

Haha! True! That's my next project. For under $100US, I will have her back in action shortly. As soon as my tax refund is in, it's off to StewMac for some EMG Selects and some wiring gear. I really miss playing that one. It was my first fiver and will be a great compliment to the Spector. The tone is slightly more aggressive, making it a good funk/rock choice, in my opinion.
It is also very well built, despite the false impression most folks have of Samick (which makes about half of all Korean basses regardless of what is on the headstock).

The cat didn't make it into the picture...but the Dos Equis has made an appearance (between the cello and the Artcore). What can I say? I always enjoy an adult beverage after a day at work. Sometimes days when I haven't been at work as well.
And here's a picture with some glare. I couldn't decide which one was the better one. Maybe neither. I took these with my camera phone.

The least amount of adult-likeness in my life, the better.
The Artcore is the Princess. If I had photoshop, I'd add my next bass (the Warwick Fretless) into the picture. I'm sure that one would fit right in. I wonder if the Warwick and the Artcore will experience some sibling rivalry. Probably. But the Slammer has gotten to sleep in my bed with me on numerous occasions (I finally bought another guitar stand).
That Artcore is cool looking. I like semi-hollow basses. A friend of mine had an old Kay that was cool as hell. I've played one of those Jack Bruce Epi's before and really liked it.
A 5-string banjo got into my apartment this weekend. I don't know how. And if my neighbors were annoyed with me before...they haven't heard nothin' yet. As those bluegrassers say "We'll be Pickin' and a-grinnin'." Banjos are fun to play but they sound awful. This one needs a little set up and maybe I'll get it a little more mellow. It's pretty twangy right now.
I'm hoping to score a set of bongos in the near future. I'd also like to get one of those flying V ukeleles. I like having a varitey of instruments. If I plataeu on the bass, then I just play another instrument for a little bit and then come back to the bass fresh.
Once again, I don't have enough instrument stands for everyone. If any more instruments end up in my apartment, they are all going to have to get jobs and start paying rent. Or they'll have to start picking up after me and cleaning the place. I've been trying to get the cat to the very same thing with absolutely no success. Lazy feline.
She used to play fetch when she was a kitten. I should have kept up with it a little better. She started doing it the other day again and then quit.
I did teach her that it's okay to use her claws only on the apholstery on my recliner (the starchair) but not the carpet on the speaker cabs (priorities, you know). I thought that was pretty good training. I'd rather have that chair ripped up then my amp's carpet all snagged.
Ah, but that's not training. That is just what the cat wants to do coincides with what you want it to do. My experience with cats is they are perpetually giving us the feline equivalent of the one finger salute. hahahahaha
Seriously though, I'm glad you were able to get the cat to leave your cabs alone. That's no mean feat since speaker cabs make perfect scratching posts. : (
...is the banjo. What a weird little instrument. I've played one before but I've forgotten everything that I used to know about playing it. I do remember that although it sounds very twangy and loud, it sure is fun to play.
Okay, my turn. First, the solid bodies: Squier Tele Custom, 1988 Fender Jazz Bass Special (fretless), 1984 Fender Jazz Bass Special (fretted -- my main bass):
Next, the acoustic and semi-acoustic. A 1930s arch-top that belonged to my father, a 1960s Kay semi-hollowbody that was given to me, and my trusty Guild D-40. The Guild is the one of these that gets the most play:

No. I got a nibble on Craig's List (a guy wanted to trade me a USA Precision, which wouldn't have been a bad trade, really). I've got another tab opened in Firefox right now and I'm putting in a listing for it on eBay.
Love the 'Ray. The color's really nice. Bet she sounds good. Looks to me you've got a single coil and a humbucker on her. How many combinations does that give you? I know the dual humbuckers give you 5 settings in total.
I'm not too sure how it works with the stingrays but this has just a double coil but you can get them with another double coil and/or with an additional single coil with a swith, I think!!! do you know?
I know they come in many variations. The two most common ones are the single humbucker at the bridge and the dual humbuckers (bridge and neck). I've heard of setups with a single coil at the bridge and a humbucker at the neck.
Yours seems to have a single coil really close to the bridge and a humbucker in the normal bridge position. That is if my eyes aren't fooling me. I haven't seen that setup before. Is there no pup selector switch? Maybe you have a blend control instead? Or a push/pull pot?
I know a guy who'd know. Maybe I can e-mail him and find out.
Ok, time for new glasses. I swear I can see the twin coil humbucker AND a single coil closer to the bridge. I can't blame it on alcohol. I'm, unfortunately, sober as a judge.

I'm still waffling. I de-tuned it to DGCF a while back and I'm finding it a little easier to play. It sounds really evil in the lower tuning as well so it's tough to commit to selling. I'd really like that white Tune bass though. It's so hard to decide.......

The jazz V has a quilted maple top & flamed back. It's a '96 50th anniversary edition that I managed to score when I traded my 4 string jazz, it previously belonged to the bassist for a well known local blues guitarist Tony D so at least it's spent most of its life in the hands of a competent bassist. LOL
The Carvin caught my eye pretty much the minute I walked into their factory showroom last year. My wife's afraid to travel to California now (at least San Diego).
I usually do not like sunburst paint schemes but with the quilt is is very sharp lookin'. I might see if I could get something like that on my next bass.

Very nice, apart from the fact you've got too many strings on two of them. So what's that Marshal stack doing hiding in the background? Wanna buy a Ric so you can run the treble pup through the Marshal? hahahaha
That's the amp I use for those high pitched 6 string thingies. I bought the head (JCM900 - 100w) on eBay specifically to re-sell (it was too good a deal to miss) and decided to rent a 4 x 12 cab for a month from L&M. It (notwithsanding my playing) sounded so good my wife told me I can't sell it. I then stumbled across a guy close to my place that was selling a Marshall cab for a reasonable price (he'd just bought a 4 x 12 Orange) and the rest is history.
I'd really like to get a chance to check out some Marshall bass amplification but no one in town stocks anything and I'm sure they're horribly expensive but there's (at least for guitar) something to be said for that Marshall crunch.
I think they may exagerate the "list" price on their web site but dollar for dollar I haven't seen anything that can touch them and their build quality is second to none.
