Are any of you familiar with NINJAM? It's some open source software (for Mac, Windows, and Linux) that allows jamming over the internet in real-time (more-or-less: it does some time shifting to overcome the latency issues. But it is designed to feel like real time to each participant). I haven't tested it out yet. They have some public servers that can be used. I don't know if we could set up our own server or not.
Evidently, Reaper (a commercial DAW for Mac and Windows) supports it and makes it a lot easier to use (and ads some functionality that isn't included with NINJAM itself).
I know that the logistics of getting together for a jam are prohibitive, but it might be fun to test this out sometime, if anyone is interested.

Yeah. They provide the
Yeah. They provide the code, and the NINJAM site has several public servers that you can use (and I've found some other sites that provide servers). I'd like to set up our own, but I'm not sure if I can do that on Dreamhost or not. I'll have to check. I know I could do it if I had a "private server" account, but I don't. So I'll have to see if it's doable.

Can I sing? Oh! I know! Can I add the cowbell. MORE COWBELL!!! hehe
I think if it was a very slow song that wasn't complicated, I could convince ol'Bob to come out and play. It would be a nice break from my studies.
