Thanks for the tip Dave. It really makes a difference. Like you said, it adds clarity to the bass track. My Peavey T40 is a bass monster and can sound almost muddy at times. When I did as you suggested to Paul and bumped the 4k up a little in Audacity's EQ, I noticed a good bit of difference. I was just experimenting with a bass only track, but I think it would translate nicely in a mix.

No problem Bo. I just prefer 4k for bass. But, to give it clarity you can try a boost in the "presense range" which is about 1k to 5k. I've just always found 4k to be really bass friendly.
