The Idea:
Bass-in-a-Box (BassIAB) gives you a chance to demonstrate your creativity while learning about the creative process of other bassists here at Bassplaying.com. The idea is simple:
Get the idea? It's simple. It's fun. It gives you a chance to learn how other bassists think and pick up some bass line creation and recording techniques. It's not a competition, it's an excuse to have fun and learn.
2008

A Newbie
Hello All,
My real name is Robert, and I gained the name Roostor (intentionally misspelled) due to attitude more than prowess!
I live in Texas, very near Galveston, and only a stones throw from the water....which is my first love...I love to Sail, Boat, and Fish. I am recently retired from the Railroad, having worn many hats in my 35 years there.
My other Love is the bass and has been for many years, but only seriously picked it up in the last year....so I have LOTS to learn. I am sure with this site, and lots of patience, I will learn to play it, although I never intend to make it a profession.
I have a Tacoma Olympia Acoustic and an Epiphone EB3, and when I plug in, I am going through a little Crate BassBuss TXB50...which is a neat little amp and very very portable...runs on 12V or 110V or it's own battery.
Of course it's just for small group settings (jam sessions at the Beer Joint) or practice, certainly not made for BIG sound.
I want to say Thank you to Wheat and Hazz for so promptly jumping in and helping me ID a headless bass. I was impressed at how you guys have that " I can find that" attitude; And I guess years of experiance helped you too.
Thanks again for this site.....I will definitely be visiting more.
